Membership Details
A Junior Member is any person under 16 years of age as of the 1st January of the playing season unless otherwise agreed by the Club Committee.
Juniors can generally start from about 6 years of age, but each child is considered based on their abilities and how well they can follow instructions.
Junior Sessions are run by a coach appointed by the Club Committee with help from volunteer parents where possible.
As with Senior Members, all Junior players are required to wear appropriate clothing and shoes for all Sessions – playing in bare foot is not allowed for Health & Safety reasons.
Strictly, only non-marking indoor court shoes may be worn on the courts and these are to be carried into the stadium for each session.

Session Details
Junior Sessions are generally held on Monday and Friday evenings.
- Fundamentals: Monday 5:15pm – 6:15pm
- Intermediate: Monday 6:15pm – 7:15pm
- Advanced: Friday 5:30pm – 6:30pm
Some selected advanced junior students may then be invited to attend the senior session that follows to offer more experience.
Our Junior Season runs during school term times only and there are no sessions on public holidays.
The aim of the Junior Sessions is to foster an enjoyment for the game of badminton and is a combination of fun games, fitness, and badminton skills.
Junior Club Champs
The annual Junior Club Champs are held around September, with participation based on the ability levels of each Junior player. If the Junior Coach considers that a Junior would be better challenged by a higher level of play, there is a possibility of changing the session. This change would first be confirmed with the parents/caregivers.
Advancement to Senior Sessions
In some instances, Junior players may be advanced to the Senior Club Sessions, subject to permission from the parent/caregiver and approval by the Club Committee.
Health and Safety
A Child Safety Policy is part of our Club Health and Safety Policy. Juniors, parents, and caregivers are required to abide by these policies at all times.
