Court Etiquette

Introduction and Acknowledgment

  • Introduce yourself to new players and make them feel welcome.
  • Acknowledge your partner and opposition with a thank you or handshake.
  • Treat opponents with respect and show good sportsmanship.
  • Be considerate and encouraging; everyone learns at their own pace.

Game Conduct

  • Pick up shuttles gently; avoid damaging them.
  • Move promptly to your next game to ensure smooth running of sessions.
  • If you miss your game, another player may take your place.
  • Do not walk across courts other than your own for safety reasons.
  • Use old shuttles for warm-ups; new shuttles are supplied by the Club Captain.
  • Avoid distractions; be respectful and quiet while others play.
  • Use courteous language and avoid disturbing noises.
  • Handle shuttles gently; avoid damaging them.
  • Return shuttles to your opponent when they are on your side of the court.
  • Avoid running into or damaging the net.

Stadium Rules

Security and Safety

  • Keep the front door closed except during Club Sessions; ensure security during non-session times.
  • Be aware of fire exit doors and ensure they are securely closed after use.
  • Understand the stadium's Security Camera System and Media Policy.
  • All users enter the stadium at their own risk and must adhere to Health and Safety policies.
  • Report any accidents to the Club Captain.

Behavior and Usage

  • Guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult or Senior Club Member.
  • Club Members are responsible for their visitors and must ensure they follow the rules.
  • All users must adhere to the clothing and footwear policy.
  • Follow conduct and behavior codes.
  • Do not record others without their permission.
  • Smoking and vaping are not allowed within the stadium.

Facilities and Cleanliness

  • The last person out must ensure the stadium is secured and cleaned properly.
  • Playing on courts without lights or without payment for lights is prohibited.
  • Food and drink (except bottled drinks) are prohibited in the playing area.
  • Ensure pockets are empty of items that could fall out during play.
